WHAT IS PSYCHODYNAMIC THERAPY?

This type of therapy is based on applying basic concepts of psychoanalysis to specific problems. The process is adapted to each particular case, however it usually includes classical techniques of psychoanalysis such as free association, dream interpretation or the analysis of the resistance and transference. The goal is to redirect the person towards the "insight" and help him or her to understand the unconscious conflicts that cause their suffering and influence their behaviour, their thoughts and emotions.
